Hendersons Vegan Restaurant (New Town)

• I went to Henderson's Bistro for dinner with my mother last Monday
• I ordered the bean wrap with beansprout salad
• The portion was massive and only £
• 9.45 so it was definitely value for money
• I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I had eaten in a long time
• The atmosphere was peaceful and staff were very kind and helpful and overall I had a wonderful visit
• My usual problem with hendersons was that
• The service was always either a bit half arsed or unsure
• The staff member who served us was brilliant and couldn't do enough to help us
• He recommended dishes and was happy to make friendly chat
• What I loved is that they make the food appealing to those who perhaps aren't vegetarian
• I tried lasagne and risotto both were bland with no great flavors
• Cherry pie was not good too
• Only thing was ample options to pick
• Their small menu is delicious nonetheless and demonstrates perfectly how versatile and flavourful a meat and dairy free diet can be
• My only hope is that more vegan places pop up in the city soon &ndash
• S former bistro was converted to a vegan speciality restaurant
• Dinner here was a fantastic experience
• We started with garlic bread
• We enjoyed our food and cake (chocolate and hazelnut) with raspberry sauce was just amazing
• Consisting of a couple of slabs of perfectly roast brassica that were further enhanced through subtle addition of spice
• Accompanied by a mushroom and peppercorn sauce that was so tastily creamy it was hard to believe there was no dairy involved in its production
