Jamie's Italian (New Town)

• Jamie's Italian is a nice place but without good food
• The price you are paying is not up to the quality of the food
• I took the risotto croquettes and the linguini with crab and chili (both in small portion) with a glass of wine and it costed me £
• It would have been ok if I had the best pasta and croquettes but it was not the case
• Their seafood and pasta are always fresh
• What amazed me the most was I could actually taste real meat in their meatball tapas
• Great and friendly service and a good enjoyable meal with the hustle and bustle that can only be distinctly called Jamie's
• So when my parents were visiting we enjoyed a lovely meal at Jamie's Italian
• We ordered various sides to share and I had the prawn linguine which was good but could have been more flavourful
• The fresh pasta was really nice but the sauce and prawns could have had a bit more flavour
• The zucchini frittes and posh chips were each delicious and unhealthy
• I was a bit disappointed by the menu myself but that's because I'm a bit picky and the pasta dishes I liked were mainly served with sauces I was a little less fond of
• Fennel and tomato linguine and it was indeed delicious
• My partner had the special pasta of the day rigatoni with mushroom and pancetta and loved it
• The portion were good and didn't stuff us too much leaving us plenty of space for sharing desserts
• All in all it was a delicious meal
• If there are any issues they are quick to fit them
• The interior is gorgeous and the cocktails are good too but that's about it
• We both had a seafood main and both dishes could have done with more seafood in them so it didn't feel like a plate of spaghetti with a dusting of crab or mussels
• Grand ceilings and impressive surroundings are your thing then it&rsquo
• Obvioulsy once you come across a Jamie oliver restaurant there is no chance that you would want to miss out on this opportunity
• Jamie's Italian kitchen is very well designed and you instantly feel at home
• In the mean time we were asked to sit near the bar till a table is available
• The manager (i am presuming he was the manager) was very polite and friendly
• The bar menu is pretty large but as i was in Scotland i wanted to try a classic Scottish beer
• Sadly none were available for that particular night only foreign beers or apple cider
• He said would vibrate once our table was available very impressive
• The problem about a lot of the restaurants at rose street was the choice of vegetarian dishes
• The great thing about Jamie's kitchen is there was enough options and all of them sounded mouth watering
• The starters did take a bit longer than usual to arrive but the bartender was good enough to keep a check and try to start up a conversation to kill time
• The bar area is located slightly away from the main restaurant and was a bit quieter which made it easier for conversations

• All the raviolis are topped with grated parmesan &
• The dish was just perfect really crispy raviolis with cheese oozing out
• The manager was very apologetic and offered to give our next round of drinks complimentary since we had to wait long for the table rose wine
• The kitchen was looking spotless and the restaurant was filled with fresh aromas
• The bread basket did not come along with the main course and was served 10 minutes after the main course
• Made from potato was served in an olive oil
• The gnocchi was very soft and went well with the pesto sauce
• The sauce was creamy because of the cheese and tasted perfect with the spinach and crunchy due to the breadcrumbs
• The pumpkin was soft and blended well with the entire dish
• The portions were decent and more than enough for two people
• Presentation was simply perfect and couldn't ask for a better beginning to our first day in Edinburgh
• The service was really good
• A member of staff came over and explained there was an issue with the pasta meals
• While they were good it was a very rushed affair
• The restaurant was clearly not prepared well enough for the busy festival season
• The manager was very apologetic even taking 50% off our bill
• Nice rustic place with a humble welcoming and pleasant staff
• I adore making pastas and risottos and our freezer is always stocked with a good
• Ll admit that with one is with varying degrees of success
• We booked for 2.30 yesterday and the restaurant was quite empty
• Parma ham pasta which was more like pancetta but still tasty
• He had the Prawn linguine which was tasty but soooo garlicky
• Would for again for a reasonably priced lunch but there are definitely better Italians around
• Our waiter was one of the worst I've encountered and definitely shouldn't be working in this industry
• The place itself is extensive and well appointed
• We had the Pumpkin Arancini best part of the meal
• As was everything we ordered followed by Rabbit Cassarecce (the rabbit was scarce in this one) and some good
• I'd have known there was an app that provided for free tidbits and discounts
