The kitchen itself is an island in the middle of the restaurant floor with a grill right there on the side as well
-
The big problem though is that the portions are tiny especially once you consider the prices each of the "
-
S outdoor space is as fine a place to be as any so close to Oxford Circus
-
The Kyoto dining room was a lovely and comfortable spot to have a gorgeous brunch
-
The chicken skewers in particular were irresistibly juicy and tender (and veggie options not listed on the menu were available when requested)
-
On a rainy Sunday with American visitors in town we decided to give it a go
-
Our group of 9 were seated in a great glass side room
-
Where we were safe to get louder with every glass of bubbly without disturbing other diners
-
They were more than generous with the top ups
-
No sooner would you be down to the last third of your flute than a server would appear with a fresh bottle to top it up
-
As regular sushi goers our only complaint was that there was far too much food and they wouldn't let us take the leftovers away
-
If you are looking for a place to treat yourself for an evening and eat one of the most good sushi made at the time in the city then it is the right place
-
The cocktails though a bit expensive (15 pounds) are really good and spirits
-
I dined at Kyoto last week with some friends
-
We couldn't go to the terrace as it was raining so we started with cocktails in the indoor bar
-
I had one with gin and elderflower with sage which was recommended by the bartender
-
By the time we moved to the main dining area it was almost full
-
The black cod and the grilled courgettes were my absolute favourites and the desserts wow
-
My friends from NY were very impressed with the service and the experience
-
The ambiance is really great
-
Everything came on time and they were very helpful with suggesting dishes
-
Everything is presented so beautifully
-
That usually comes with the territory of Japanese food in London
-
Was really impressed with the quality of the food
-
The pretentiousness of such places is compensated for by fantastic food
-
The atmosphere is rather uncomfortable
-
I was greeted by a rude barman with a very rude attitude
-
Took the ice out with his fingers
-
Dined here with 3 friends on a Saturday evening after booking a Bookatable 'Star Deal' 3 courses with champagne cocktail for £
-
We sat down for dinner and were welcomed with our champagne cocktail (part of our star deal)
-
I elected for the miso sea trout with kombu crust and nukazuke vegtables
-
This was a very fresh starter and the texture of the kombu crust on the trout was a delight too go along with the lovely flavour of the fish
-
Moving on to my main course (again with 3 options on the star deal)
-
I chose the beef chilli nikujaga with sea beans and ginkgo nuts
-
The rice was in a separate bowl and was quite sticky
-
I really like and this was great to mix with with veg and beef
-
The presentation was impeccable
-
I was not bowled over with the flavour of the dessert
-
The pieces of fruit definitely helped with the flavour but I was not left amazed overall
-
I would sum up my whole experience at Aqua Kyoto to be positive but with room for improvement
-
At this point the bar was quite busy
-
Great that have a lovely terrace with heaters for pre/post dinner
-
The flowers were a little bitter though
-
The salad was difficult to eat with chopsticks but we managed
-
A lift leads you to sixteenth floor where you enter this luxurious looking place with red curtains giving it a very attractive feel
-
The drinks are well prepared
-
The portions are both generous and the food is reasonably priced
-
The crispy tofu was delicious as was everything else I ordered
-
The service was exceptionally good
-
In fact three times to be precise and i have got to say i am as pleased with the service as earlier and am more than eager to drop in again
-
With a few good dishes and a few which are not good enough
-
The service is prompt and the staff is friendly and polite
-
The ambiance is a bit dark and also includes a terrace
-
There are other places offering just as good food with the same kind of service as the Aqua Kyoto (Soho)
-
The ambiance is amazing and the environment is cheerful
-
Aqua Kyoto (Soho) is a unique combination of things
-
The interiors of Aqua Kyoto (Soho) is not the best and the dark lighting seem appropriate for the night tie only
-
The service is pretty good and helpful
-
It would have to be the desserts which were quite good
-
The ambiance of Aqua Kyoto (Soho) is quite unique and the interiors are a bit dark with a bar
-
The food here is average and the flavors and innovative
-
The service is also not that great and the food is exorbitantly priced
-
The ambience was wonderful and I am wondering if they charged us for the ambience alone
-
The decor is beautiful and there is a roof top terrace as well but that is accessible to all and that spoils the intimate feel to it
-
The service was pretty decent but that is what you would generally expect from an expensive place like this one
-
Aqua Kyoto (Soho) was very crowded when I went here
-
The crowd was mid 30s so they were pretty much sophisticated
-
Try and be dressed smartly because everyone here is like this only
-
If you can shell out money and you happen to be a sushi lover then this is the place for you
-
The food served is freshly prepared and delicious
-
The menu here is kind of diverse and so is the gentry you will find here
-
The food and drinks are average but the service provided is really accommodating and cordial
-
The number of rooftop restaurants in the city is abysmally low
-
Aqua Kyoto (Soho) is definitely worth visiting
-
Aqua Kyoto (Soho) is always busy
-
My most preferred cocktails are the appletinis
-
The outdoor bars are great in the warmer days
-
The prices are quite exorbitant as expected from an exclusive place like this one
-
We recently went there for dinner and it was a very bad choice to do so
-
The atmosphere was dull and boring
-
The quality of food was pretty average and the service was horrible to say the least
-
The view from the rooftop is amazing and seems like your on a holiday as the noise from the traffic downstairs is barely audible
-
The cocktails are about average
-
The fact that there is a dress code for Aqua Kyoto (Soho) gives it a nice classy impression
-
The menu did not offer an extensive selection of dishes to chose from but whatever we ordered was simply delectable
-
The service at the restaurant is so pathetic that you do not feel agitated but feel pity for the amazing chef that works at the restaurant
-
The portion sizes are reasonable
-
The food is a great deal for money had the staff with its poor service not hamper it
-
The ambiance is just average and the music can be loud at times
-
The cocktails are delicious though
-
The music is also not that loud as it is mentioned in a lot of reviews
-
We chose the set menu which included a cocktail and was very reasonably priced
-
The main course was bland and a bit of a let down
-
The service was average and was not rushed
-
Try the set meal with three courses and a cocktail you will not be disappointed
-
There is something for everyone meat and veggie lovers alike and the combination of the food and the views is quite heady
-
Is an amazing place to sit and chill with friends if the weather is nice
-
Aqua Kyoto (Soho) was nice and we went after it was recommended my the hotel staff at the place we were staying
-
The place had the appeal of a pub and was really crowded
-
They make sure you are always well served
-
The service is really good and you will appreciate the variety that they offer
-
Went here for lunch with my partner and enjoyed a tasty meal for two
-
The 3 course meal we had was good value for money too
-
My parents and I dined here and were rather impressed
-
The food was great with an interesting variety on the menu
-
The Seabass with Crab Ravioli
-
The staff was attentive and were not rushing around
-
The ambience was soothing as well
-
Great place to come back to this was my second time here and I was thrilled that it matched my first experience
-
Had the beef Bento box and it was so filling and yummy
-
I had been hearing a lot of good reviews about Aqua Kyoto (Soho) and I was quite curious as to what the buzz was all about
-
The set up at this restaurant is not very mature
-
The waiter was uninterested and it seemed as though they staff was not well trained
-
Tried the green tea soba noodles with the vegetable tempura and they were absolutely delicious
-
If you are looking for a restaurant/bar with a good ambience this would be the place
-
I went here with friends for a pre drink and the place was very upscale and full with professionals (30s
-
Not to be confused with the restaurant on high in The Shard
-
Aqua Kyoto is a luxe cocktail bar and Japanese restaurant a stone's throw away from Carnaby Street
-
Conjured up tastes of the Caribbean with the a fruity
-
I reversed roles and went for the rye sazerac that was smokey without being too dry
-
Aqua Kyoto is the place to go for a special occasion
-
We started with some cocktails
-
I had a Mojito and my Girlfriend had a strawberry margarita (the costed 15 quids each but they were properly prepared)
-
Finally the delicious food is coupled with the amazing roof terrace overlooking Regent Steet
-
The set menu was delicious and nutritious &ndash
-
What particularly stood out to me was I wasn&rsquo
-
Japanese cuisine is naturally rich in vitamin D and the menu features ingredients like mackerel
-
The set menu starts with a zesty 'Sunshine' cocktail made using Apollo 11
-
Main and dessert with a choice of three for each
-
The entrance to the restaurant is through a ground floor lobby
-
The first half of Aqua Kyoto is composed of the bar area
-
This leads onto a dramatic dining room where the main show piece is a sunken sushi bar where diners can watch their meals being expertly made
-
The dining area is decked out fashionably in black and crimson red and there is also gigantic red lantern in the centre of the room resulting in a very swanky dining room
-
The set menus offered by Aqua Kyoto are a popular draw
-
It was obvious that the sashimi was fresh from the taste
-
The presenting of this dish was quite a novelty and it was obvious by now that Aqua Kyoto places a considerable amount of effort in delivering on appearances
-
My dessert was again beautifully presented
-
Aqua Kyoto is also well known for its bar and the cocktails we tired included Yuzuama Bellinis and Knickerbockers
-
Both of which were delectable
-
Aqua Kyoto is a high end restaurant and the prices on the a la carte menu reflects this
-
This is especially the case if you choose from the larger dishes such as the pot roasted lobster with lime leaf for £
-
The cocktails are also at the pricy end of the scale
-
Aqua Kyoto is a very glossy restaurant and the dé
-
S not the type of restaurant you would go to in order to experience the best or most authentic sushi in London
-
The best part of Aqua Kyoto is the lovely rooftop garden at the end of the restaurant
-
This big open terrace is a well designed area and offers plenty of seating overlooking Regent Street
-
There are certainly some stunning views to take in from here at sunset and is almost good enough to make me recommend Aqua Kyoto
-
Its somewhere between bar and club with good music and a good crowd
-
They also serve some pretty sophisticated cool drinks with the lychee martini being a stand out for me (very manly I know)
-
It's a great place to be on a summer evening with the open terrace
-
The service at this point was good and quite apologetic to the situation
-
On arriving we went out to the deck for drinks and were met by a full bar with only one bartender meaning a long wait while she went through the pageantry of making the drinks
-
To their credit the bill was completely accurate and we were not charged for anything that didn't come to the table in spite of this
-
From here our meals came out and our appetisers were larger than our mains
-
Overall the delicious food was overlooked by exceeding poor service in a restaurant where waiters nearly outnumbered guests and only half a full restaurant
-
I am a big fan of Japanese cuisine so I was never going to complain
-
Only small downer was the relatively small servings
-
Aqua Kyoto is one of those places which offer an experience
-
Doors open into a lovely reception desk were to hand in your coats and get info about your booking
-
Was a massive red hanging lantern was just above between the sushi bar and the robata grill took my daughter breath away
-
The amazing music was loud enough to have a conversation and to create a nice atmosphere without dominating the entire experience
-
The service was simply outstanding
-
They looked after us all night long with a big smile and sympathy
-
We decided to have a wagyu beef gyozas with onion miso and ponzu pearls
-
The soft shell crab and the rock shrimp tempura were crunchy and well cooked
-
Then they brought us a shiitake negi yaki (shiitake mushroom yakitori with garlic butter sauce) nice option for vegetarians
-
My little princess was more than happy with the otoro
-
Sugar and vinegar balance was more than excellent
-
Ve started to prefer spending my birthday with a few close friends
-
Rather than having a big party and getting horrifically drunk with everyone I&rsquo
-
Instead I decided would get horrifically drunk with ten of my close friends
-
Course as sushi is my favourite it was the cuisine of choice for my birthday bash
-
Inside the room was a round table for 10 people which made it was easy for us to talk
-
M someone who loves to stay in touch with people and I still have friends from all my many walks of life but my oldest friends are from school and university
-
Champagne was poured for everyone and several beautifully presented platters of sashimi were bought out for us to get started on
-
Though the jury was out a bit on the prawns but in our group
-
Everything was certainly eaten and enjoyed
-
The restaurant was lively and buzzing and we could actually see the sushi chefs preparing the food
-
Mr S and I are big fans of the restaurant as it&rsquo
-
S a great roof top venue with a view over the city
-
Here a Japanese and Italian menu is served in the high rise and super glamorous restaurant I highly recommend it if you&rsquo
-
S the lady herself with her fiancé
-
Still the picture of calm with the wedding five months away
-
By now the memories are a bit hazy so apologies for lack of descriptions but we were certainly enjoying the food and the restaurant&rsquo
-
The wonderful night passed so quickly and soon cake was presented to a very happy and very drunk birthday girl
-
It was a totally wonderful birthday party and Aqua was the perfect venue with great food
-
All four of us ordered the same thing off the lunch menu (the choice was very limited
-
S now come back with a banging new blog and an incredible attitude towards life
-
Japanese food really is my guilty pleasure
-
The quality of the seafood is some of the best in the world
-
Japanese dining for me is always exciting and so I was glad to be enjoying my favourite cuisine once again at the rather gorgeous Aqua Kyoto
-
I have eaten in Aqua but it was a while back
-
My choice of drink was a pornstar martini made by an amazing Italian bartender
-
The bar and the ambience is lovely I can't fault that
-
The mocktails are also very good
-
Please do not choose the set menu all selections were bad as we ordered a mixture
-
The service was also quite strange as our waiter was abrupt and hard to understand
