Aqua Nueva (Soho)

• Aqua has one of the best roof terraces in town and offers the best of both worlds
• The Japanese side is more buzzing while the Spanish Tapas is quieter but more sophisticated
• Exhausted and with the holiday blues we really didn&rsquo
• We sometimes feel this way with really showy off high end places
• The entrance is ground level with the restaurants on top of the former Dickens &
• The aperitif menu is interesting
• Nonetheless my best dining experience in London
• A nice and swanky tapas bar with fantastic ambience and ample seating
• That came with a pork filling so that was ruled out as well
• So I ended up with some white asparagus in vinaigrette dressing and pickled pimientos yumm
• My husband enjoyed his red mullet with cauliflower puree
• Milk and dark with cake heaven on a platter
• The waiters were friendly and more than helpful
• Went for just drinks before dinner with some friends
• It was a Wednesday evening and we expected it to be more empty but the place was absolutely packed
• The restaurant part was empty (did not want to sit there as we didn't want to eat)
• The nice bar was right next to the toilets
• I expected Aqua to be much better from what I heard but I was really unimpressed
• As even Oxford Circus was less crowded that the bar area
• We didn't get to try their tapas bar but it looked great with lots of fresh seafood piled on ice lit from below and above
• The Iberico ham here is not to be missed

• Waitress being really attentive but when arriving as a party of 14 they said they only had a table for 11 (we booked for 14) and we were charged for dishes we didn't order
• A couple of months ago I won a Square Meal competition for a meal for 4 at Aqua Nueva and took the opportunity to catch up with Andrea and introduce the men in our lives and boy were we in for a feast
• It is one of the best places in London in terms of ambiance
• We had ordered a couple of drinks along with some appetizers the best being the padron peppers
• The spanish area with a beautiful rooftop was a great place to soak the high spirits
