Then there is Knightsbridge
-
You have Bluewater or perhaps I am just not educated enough about what is on offer down here
-
What I did not expect to find is some strong competition from Balham
-
Over loads of instagram posts from East London hipsters there is poached eggs and avocado galore
-
Interesting items like Eggs Benedict were not always a feature
-
Somehow breakfast is now as cool as the coffee movement
-
The interior is basic and practical
-
Straightaway you know this is a comfortable environment by the number of tables for one
-
Even when they are engaged in banter with their colleagues
-
I ordered poached eggs with avocado and crispy bacon on sour dough bread
-
I had English breakfast tea which was fresh leaves as opposed to tea bags
-
Brother Marcus is a small food venue with a relatively small menu
-
The quality of what you produce is really the only important thing for a food establishment to keep top of mind
-
The results are impressive
-
I visited for brunch with a friend and we were ready to eat
-
My friend and I ordered a few things off the menu that we would share and then waited with baited breath
-
The first thing we saw on the menu and both pointed at was the Brother Special
-
Asparagus and beetroot cured salmon and toast with rocket oil
-
Turmeric yogurt topped with a poached egg had us both fighting forks to get the last mouthfuls
-
This worked really well with the grilled aubergine with chilli
-
Beetroot hummus and sesame seeds and halloumi with sliced orange and crumbled pistachios
-
Were both brought out (like everything else) with a huge smile from the attentive staff
-
We threw in a pork belly with Parmesan and tomato relish just to make the meal complete and left really happy people
-
Brother Marcus is the ideal place to visit if you are ever in London SW12
