  • Lovely blackboards with specials on it and changing menus

  • Mutton pub has recently been refurbished and relaunched with food from Licky Chops and Pearl's cocktail bar upstairs from the Ruby's Dalston team

  • The ground floor pub was buzzing with locals even though it was supposedly not opening for another 2 days

  • They have done an excellent job with the dé

  • The Licky Chops food menu is slightly reduced in the pub area

  • T's Bloody Ruby was an interesting smooth Negroni sour

  • This was rivalled by the generous Onglet Steak with Chimichurri portion that easily (but sadly) stretched to 3

  • Licky Chops continued to hit the right notes with Jerk Chicken with Mango Coleslaw &

  • French Fries with Garlic Aioli

  • S and also initiating a partnership with Licky Chops (the alterego of Lucky Chip)

  • We went there because we were booked in for a steak dinner at Buen Ayre

  • The place has been given a distinctly pub feel but also one that is quite &lsquo

  • I had a pinot grigio which was one of the nicest I&rsquo

  • Therefore a direct comparison to the last time I was there under the old management

  • We started with pork scratchings and anchovies a small portion for £

  • There were four crisped skins topped with a single anchovy for the saltiest little bites to kick off with

  • This was met with mixed reactions

  • The rest of the plates come out as they're ready which is good for a rolling dining experience but does mean that some people were eating and finished before everyone else (me)

  • There can also be a mix up (fries before other food) and a half hour wait for a dish that we ended up cancelling and taking with us to devour at home

  • I chose the pork rillettes with sourdough toast

  • The rillettes were thick and dense and spread easily onto the (very thin) slices of salted sourdough

  • The texture and the taste of the meat was good enough without it

  • Came piled with fennel and parmesan and roasted tomatoes

  • My third dish was equally as good

  • The creamy cheese with the chargrilled bite of courgettes and the woody pine nuts was offset by the sweetness of the honey

  • All it needed was perhaps a little bit of bread to mop up those last lingering pieces

  • The jerk chicken with a mango slaw and a bit of a kick

  • Enough to share with a side of pickled red cabbage and melt in the mouth texture

  • The pork chop with red peppers and hazelnuts was the dish that didn't arrive so they packaged it up for us and let us take it home free of charge

  • The staff here are really friendly even offering us a shot of mezcal

  • Small plates are tricky to price as they're usually too much and never enough

  • I felt the portions are just about right

  • The house red was good enough for a second bottle but I'll definitely be dining off everything of the ever changing menu the next time I go

  • The cat and mutton is a lovely little pub next to London Fields park

  • The atmosphere inside is interesting due to the dark decor and metallic touches but I must admit I was not too keen on the animal heads hanging behind the bar

  • The skewers portion was full of vegetables and hardly any meat

  • What I really liked is that they have lots of board games you can play so we had a few intense jenga rounds and a game of snakes and ladders that took way longer than it should have

  • Love going here during the summer with some friends

  • The staff is friendly and the drinks are not expensive at all

  • A good strategy for a cut that is very flavorful but not particularly tender

  • My companion had the burger which is cooked medium to well done

  • If your chair is not up against a wall

  • 30 on a Friday night in a very popular pub is not ideal if you want to eat in peace and quiet
