Colbert (Belgravia)

• I would say probably one of the best French places in town
• The choice is too little
• After a tipple or two we were taken to our seat in the main restaurant
• Some delicious freshly baked breadsticks were brought to our table
• Before I carry on I must point out that photography is a no go here and they have a strict policy which is stated on the menu
• Celebrating her birthday was told she could not take any photos when she pulled a camera from her bag
• The portion was very generous and would pose as a great snack for lunch
• The parfait itself was rich and creamy but light and airy at the same time
• Lemon meringue coupe is a stop off post theatre treat on the way home
• Re menu for each is really good
• On the other hand the prices are a bit high but well worth it
• Rather than having a layer of salmon with eggs on top
• I went for dinner with family and both good and service were excellent
• It was surprisingly busy for a Sunday night but it is very popular
• It is not too loud (even though we were sitting at the bar side rather than the restaurant side)
• We asked the waitress to take a photo for us and was promptly told no photography was allowed within the premise
• They did take a blind eye when we were doing it ourselves
• The food thankfully was quite well made
• The lemon sole and sea bass were cooked to point
• The escalope was especially good
• The main do not come with any carbs so you'll have to order side dish in addition
• I guess they are lucky that Sloane Square has distinct lack of competition
• My dining companion ordered the chicken paillard it was well prepared
• Since every other dish seemed to come with at least a little salad greens
• Couldn't help but wonder if we were given the American treatment
• Tried the passion fruit tart which was the tarte du jour it was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour
• The drinks were nice and I came out buzzed and satisfied
• The decoration is fantastic and the ambience is terrific
• The service is quite slow
• This brasserie is very classy
• Recalling glory days of French classic cinema with wonderful and friendly service
