  • The best thing about The Folly (City of London) is the style and decoration

  • The bathrooms are also one of the finer ones I've been to and even made going to the toilet feel special

  • It is very popular among city folk on Friday nights and the contemporary bar downstairs is always filled with people

  • Is the homemade lemonade the citrusy taste is to die for and very unique

  • I later brought a friend here after a gym session and he said it was the best soft drink he's ever had

  • The Folly (City of London) is very much style over substance

  • If you are going here order something fried the fish in a basket is the only dish they seem to be able to produce consistently

  • Having gone with large groups I have yet to find a time when everyone is satisfied with their meal

  • Goats cheese risotto was basically plain rice with a sprinkling if goats cheese and one chunk if butternut squash

  • Tired and even unwashed but they do some with a cute little washing can filled with dressing

  • The Folly (City of London) is an expensive gaff where they have paid too much attention to the decor &

  • What I enjoyed the most was the ambiance of the place because it has a particular touch

  • The Folly (City of London) is really eye catching but their food isn&rsquo

  • Because even if the food was the crè

  • Else end up going home with some run of the mill big time banker

  • Wine of the day which was probably the most revolting thing I've ever tasted since my brother dared me to drink a shot of fairy liquid

  • There are a lot of seating area downstairs and our table was sort of located up against a wall

  • We were amazed at how busy it was when we first walked in

  • So we had a tour of the place with the lovely manager Paul

  • Whilst my raspberry creation was finished off with a petal on top

  • The mixologist worked with his gorgeous vodka to create our cocktails

  • Balsamic vinegar with traditional handmade breads

  • Marinated Puglia olives with a selection of traditional handmade breads

  • We loved the fact the tomatoes and olives were from Puglia

  • S where we are getting married

  • The crockery is all mix matched

  • A revolving pop up shop provides guests with something current

  • We had a very relaxed afternoon and the price is not too bad too

  • The place was reasonably full and buzzing with varied groups of people coming out to lunch

  • It would be that sometimes the achingly hip hipster trend is all well and good when it is actually being trendy

  • S liberally sprinkled with sea salt and to avoid consuming my sodium intake for a week in one meal

  • Not a lot of Thai vegetables) with some diced boiled chicken breast on top

  • Went on a Wednesday night and the staff was super friendly and service is good

  • Downstairs bar got pretty full but food arrived quickly and was reasonably tasty

  • Is pretty busy most nights of the week but the venue is large (upstairs and downstairs and has a separate dining part)

  • I would stick to drinks here and maybe the odd sharing platter as the food is pretty average and pricier than normal pubs

  • The rating of The Folly (City of London) is related to the rudeness of the staff

  • The other downside is the price pretty pricey

  • The food is terrible don't bother with it the lamb burger chewy not nice and chips cold and with the fact that food took ages to arrive

  • The brownie was yuckkkkk couldn't eat it and I am not one to waste food

  • Pricey and food is not worth it

  • They also have a downstairs area which was also guess what packed

  • I ordered for the Thai curry with chicken served with boiled rice

  • My friends however did like their chicken but no effort was made to fulfill our requests of making it spicy

  • Once we told the waitress she was nice enough to bring us some spicy sauce

  • The reasons why are always old and tired

  • I am always better off for it with more productive mornings that power through to a late lunch

  • The food at The Folly is solid if not spectacular and has always left me satisfied that I've had a decent meal at a reasonable clip

  • The risottos are always good and they used to do an amazing chicken and quinoa super food salad

  • I like the fact there are options if you're being good or feeling a bit naughty

  • The cocktails are rather good too

  • I really like the decor of the Folly and that is why I picked it for a celebration dinner during the week

  • The service and the food were good and very reasonably priced

  • Having said that I later came back for a dinner on a Friday and it was an awful experience because the bar part of the restaurant was so crowded and they sat our table of 10 right next to it

  • Will come back for food only at less busy times and probably drinks on a friday (there's a downstairs area with great music

  • Having just one or two is possibly the closest I&rsquo

  • I know perfectly well that our perception is very much influenced by the appearance of what we eat and drink

  • With their chicly themed bars and restaurants always providing a decent setting for group nights out (particularly post work with colleagues)

  • The Folly is their outpost in Bank and is inspired by all things botanical

  • I settled down with a crisp dry glass of chardonnay and watched the world go by

  • Massive space with drinking area and eating

  • There is an small almost private elevated area just to the right of reception that is perfect for this kind of party

  • Bowls of mini fish and chips with tartar sauce were decent though the fish was a lot better than the soggy chips

  • Bowls of gnocchi in cheese sauce were quite good

  • Normally I hate the taste of ascorbic acid in commercial gnocchi which is used as preservative

  • Pleasant sliders were pink in the middle and had a nice loose texture
