The Horse & Stables (Waterloo)

• On the back wall there was a huge chalk board
• How tempted would you be to have a whole wall which was actually a chalk board &ndash
• This burger was up there with Honest Burgers &ndash
• Each mouthful was like a step forward in to my journey to flavoursome nirvana
• Merely because it was just super rich &ndash
• Not to mention apparently we were lucky to get space because they get super busy
• Not the best looking pub from the outside (or inside for that matter) but a pleasantly relaxing evening spent with some friends
• The burgers are definitely not gourmet
• It doubles up as a hostel so there are some beer swilling travellers here
• It's definitely the best place to sit
• The other interesting fact about this pub is that it has regular comedy shows upstairs so it is known in the comedy circles
• There's a small stage and the upstairs room is a bit small
• This is a no fuss proper pub with decent food too
• Their veggie burger is not great but the halloumi and mushroom is fantastic
• Dark pub that serves a good beef pie with a smile and just great to run from the rain and have a good beer
