  • The menu is also available at the Chelsea branch with the menu running from Tuesday 6th August (Independence Day) Tuesday 20th August

  • The Clapham branch is perfect for the summer months as all the front windows recline

  • When we dined at the restaurant there was a table behind us

  • Who seemed pretty devastated (and very rude) that someone from the Caribbean wasn't cooking according to them it was bound to be a failure

  • S executive chef James Browne is from Brixton and decided after travelling through Jamaica it was time to share it amongst us foodies

  • Starters there was a lot of choice

  • First we decided to go with the salt cod fritters with hot sauce mayonnaise

  • The dish arrived with three crispy patties

  • The salad leaves were simple and the hot sauce mayonnaise was only a little more adventurous

  • I've had these once before at a Jamaican take out where they were much bigger

  • Calypso pepper prawns with bammie and mango salsa

  • The dish itself was rather odd

  • If you haven't heard of it before is a type of thick flat bread made from cassava

  • Its fried off and is like nothing you would have had before you'll either love it

  • Some of the best i have had in a good while

  • Perfectly cooked is the key and the Jam Tree got it spot on

  • After a mixed view on the starters the mains that came out next were a real shock to the palate but in a good way

  • After being very indecisive of what to choose the very friendly waiter said we should go with the curried goat

  • A dry curry with chunks of goat falling apart at the touch of my fork

  • Thyme and curry powder (I think) there was so much to this dish and I highly recommend it

  • The rice and peas were a nice addition

  • I opted for the roast beef and my companion the roast chicken and we were both very pleased with the results

  • I tasted a little of the chicken and it was well seasoned and full of flavour

  • All in all it was a perfect combination on a plate

  • Each mouthful was absolutely divine and produced a tremor of delight

  • The brownie is reason enough to visit The Jam Tree (Clapham)

  • Red Snapper Bloody Mary and my personal favourite the Pearl Jam which is the Jam Tree's very own interpretation of Pimms with gin

  • Mint and raspberry jam which was not only delicious but very moorish indeed

  • We went for lunch but ended up staying for much longer and were made to feel very welcome by the friendly and helpful staff

  • Situated in clapham old town this is a great little spot for a drink in the summer

  • The whole front is glass doors which can be opened up to give an al fresco feel

  • The jam tree is positions itself at the higher end which means the clientele can be a little pretentious

  • Its very expensive for what it is thankfully they are on top table and regularly offer 50% off which makes it much more appealing

  • On a separate occasion I had one which was rather dry

  • Jerked pineapple with glazed goat&rsquo

  • S cheese and roasted red peppers was my first surprise

  • I took the plunge and was pleasantly surprised

  • Moist goats cheese with the sweetness of pineapple&hellip

  • The chicken was on the bone which kept it uber juicy

  • The spicing was balanced and the gravy was flavoursome

  • My favourite dish of the evening was the curried goat with rice and peas

  • A compliment from someone who has never regarded rice with anything but apathy

  • Portion is big and it comes with quite a lot of sides

  • We finished the lunch with the banofee mess

  • As the pub we wanted to go to was rammed due to a lunchtime Xmas rush we decide to come to the Jam Tree for lunch

  • It was relatively quiet here on a Friday afternoon lunch with maybe three or four of the tables in use

  • It took a quite a few minutes to get ordered as I think the batman was new and due to a hitch on their till the service charge ended up being circa 25% of the bill

  • The food itself arrived quickly and was of good quality

  • I have no idea why it took the best part of 10 mins to arrive

  • One of my party had the Cajun breakfast and that did look delicious and I was slightly jealous

  • I've lived in London seven and a half years and last Wednesday was my second foray to Clapham the first was to the Chicago Rib Shack launch with the Try This For team just last year

  • I don't know a great deal about SW4 other than there's a club called Inferno's and recently there's been a whole host of new openings recently that really are worth a look in

  • I had some time to kill after a meeting and walked from Marylebone to Clapham a cool 4.4 miles across town meaning I was ready for a cocktail or two

  • The Jam Tree's signatures are their concoctions made with jam

  • They recommended I try the Confiture (Cariel Vanilla vodka shaken with raspberry jam

  • Lime jam and prosecco) which was the perfect antidote with that vermouth bite cutting through the fruitiness

  • Perfect for enjoying with groups of friends'

  • We started with the sotong manis (sticky battered squid) large pieces of squid in a sweet honey and soy dip with a little added heat from chilli

  • I spied 'lardo' and had to have the lardo and braised Scotch Bonnets on toast bitesize delights with a real kick

  • The chilli here outshone the lardo which was a shame but a nice try nonetheless

  • I've never eaten rabbit so had no idea what to expect but was surprised it was a whiter meat than I'd imagined

  • We originally planned to share the salt baked sea bass with caponata and polenta but another table nabbed the last one so A chose the hanger steak with chips and salsa verdi

  • I went for two more starters the salmon tartare which was nice and came with the seasoning on the side to fold in yourself

  • The restaurant around us was filled with lots of dates and a couple of groups at the bar

  • Windows open onto the street and there's a large garden area out the back that is no doubt rammed on Fridays and Saturdays when things really kick off at The Jam Tree

  • Philip himself is an eclectic mix of English

  • Because the food is seriously good

  • Over the bank holiday weekend The Jam Tree was following the popular trend of offering &lsquo

  • In the case of The Jam Tree this was priced at £

  • Fancied heading out for a nice brunch in Clapham a few weeks ago when it was sunny and nice

  • If im honest were not the best

  • Family friendly pub restaurant with locations in Clapham and Chelsea

  • Boozy adult puddings and kids meals for under 10 pounds are also available

  • The Jam Tree in Clapham Old Town is a great bar to visit for live sporting events and a bit of dancing before it shuts at midnight

  • Decent atmosphere and crowd and you can reserve an area for a small deposit which is then given to you as a bar tab

  • So I was excited for what they had in store when I was invited to sample the menu at the Clapham branch

  • Following on from the success of the Chelsea site is The Jam Tree&rsquo

  • Most places on were full it was Sunday lunch time

  • The waitress we had was brilliant she couldn&rsquo

  • I had the chips which were soggy and then had a dessert which was average

  • T bother to come back to ask how we were the waitress that served us was fabulous and couldn&rsquo

  • Really high on presentation the drinks are and other wise the place is really good for the food as well
