Layalina (Knightsbridge)

• The starters were mainly nibbles with dips
• Was expected and it was all to share
• The majority were delicious (I'm comparing the food to similar Lebanese restaurants I visit such as Maroush and Yamal Alsham) and had vibrant tastes associated with Lebanese cuisine
• The meat dishes contained lamb and chicken (also placed in the centre to 'pick at') with two small pots of traditional dips
• The fish dish was also dry and lacked taste (despite the drizzled sauce on top)
• The general consensus was that the main dishes were below par
• The desert was also relatively poor with some assorted Arabic sweets (which I doubt are made in house)
• I managed to spend half the night arguing with the restaurant manager over the table we had booked (outside) for shisha and drinks after the meal
• Twice I had a run in with the restaurant manager as the communication between himself and his staff seemed to be non existent
• We constantly felt like we were being pushed out the restaurant and it made the experience rather unpleasant at time for the other diners
• 800 on drinks alone and despite the lack of service we received with regard to the restaurant consistently double booking the outside area
• Delicious food but small portion with very small side
• At first glance the decor's quite chic with a simple silver and black color theme
• The starters were good we had bread with haloumi and beef with pomegranate molasses
• The mains were a bit of a step down the plate design was all a bit messy
• The salmon was a touch overcooked and the aubergine was on the bland side
• Give me the table that I booked because I said it was with tastecard and 50 %
• The restaurant is on tastecard but tastecard holders
