  • So you can be assured your food is being freshly prepared

  • I would recommend the Black Angus burger with the Montgomery cheddar as a must

  • 24.50) which was far too tempting to pass up

  • I started with the venison carpaccio the expertly thin slices of sweet were perfectly sweet

  • From there I was tempted by the braised daube of beef with creamed potatoes and red wine jus (which looked amazing) but went for the slightly more predictable pan fried seabass

  • Very small sides of buttery new potatoes and baby carrots were nice accompaniments but the lobster macaroni was (unsuccessfully) calling my name

  • Dessert was a mixed bunch I went for the iced brownie parfait which was a real disappointment

  • Sizeable chunks of brownie but the accompanying ice cream was practically tasteless and left me hankering for the Colston Basset stilton and spiced pear chutney that the others had chosen

  • The cocktail was pretty good Mount Gay Black Barrel rum

  • Grapefruit juice with lime and sugar syrup

  • Their Le Brunch menu is really great

  • I opted for 'Le Duck Frites' pulled duck in a brioche bun with everything else in between

  • All washed down with a couple of cocktails from the Old Bengal Bar menu

  • There was little sign that anything was going to happen

  • D group that I reviewed was The Angler in the South Place Hotel complex

  • So when Fiona and I were invited to review the New St Grill in the Old Bengal Warehouse just off Bishopsgate in an alley throbbing with the energy of young city suits letting off steam

  • As a contributor to this fine blog that is The Boozy Bunch

  • A slightly later mealtime is now an even better excuse to combine brunch style menus with daytime drinking

  • So much so that London restaurants have exploded with a plethora of boozy brunch offerings for us cosmopolitan socialites

  • Those that are savvy enough to offer a temporarily unlimited supply of alcoholic sparkle are guaranteed to fill tables every Saturday &

  • I do wonder how restaurants come up with their names

  • We went for bottomless brunch at New Street Grill on a Saturday and were overall very pleased

  • The service was attentive and very polite

  • They made sure that our glasses were topped up consistently with water and prosecco and gave any advice we needed on the menu too

  • I thought that the quantity was really lacking

  • The starters of chorizo scotch egg and asparagus with mozzarella and olive oil tasted delicious but the latter was really tiny in portion

  • The same went for the mains a fishcake with poached egg and a piece of grilled chicken with greens were again very small in quantity which is disappointing when you're hungry for a good brunch

  • I really hope that next time we visit the quantity is a generous as the quality
