The Old Bank of England (Holborn)

• A chain pub (Fuller's) this is an impressive place befitting of its history
• The Old Bank of England is literally just that
• The interior is fairly opulent with a central bar
• I sampled several pies on the tasting board and each little pastry present was a delightfully hearty treat
• After a week of disappointingly average meals in London I finally found something that made me believe there was good food to be found in the city
• Came here based on the recommendation of a blog listing the best places to try meat pies in London
• Old Bank of England is located in the financial district of London (Fleet Street how fitting for a meat pie shop) not too far from the Royal Courts of Justice
• Get the traditional pie (I think the inside is just beef and onions)
• You soon realise from the patrons (many students from kings college) to the staff The Old Bank of England (Holborn) is cosy to catch with your friends
• We ordered the lamb pie and the beef pie and both were hearty and enjoyable
• It was the best pub I visited when in London
• I tried the honey drew because I don't like beer but this was really sweet
• They also do a pie taster platter with three of their pies paired with a beer/ale
