What people say about The Providores and Tapa Room (Marylebone)
-
My favourite place to have brunch in London is at The Providores Tapa Room
-
Perfectly roasted tomatoes and mushrooms and a side of their black pudding which is incredibly tasty
-
The line moves quickly and the longest I've had to wait is 15 minutes
-
The wine selection from NZ is very extensive with some very good choices available
-
The food menu is very interesting as well with loads of tasty little tapas on offer
-
Little haven that is the Tapa Room
-
Where there is an incredible menu filled with innovative takes on brunch classics as well as wild creations begging for me to try
-
Two poached eggs on whipped yoghurt with hot chilli butter and sourdough or seeded granary toast
-
French toast stuffed with banana and pecans with grilled smoked streaky bacon and vanilla verjus syrup
-
Grilled chorizo with sweet potato and miso hash
-
This would be the perfect place to pop in whilst finishing up your Christmas shopping on Oxford Street or to go with friends to catch up on your weekend adventures
-
My friend from NZ took me here for the best coffee in London
-
Turned out it was opened by Peter Gordon
-
The place was about 1/3 full but this was on a Sunday early evening
-
Otherwise I think The Providores and Tapa Room (Marylebone) is usually quite busy another patron walked in mentioning the same
-
There is just something unique about trying to coat perfectly toasted sourdough with as much of that smooth mess of egg yolks and whipped yogurt as you can
-
The pork belly was pretty nice too
-
I am not a fan of this type of flavours but the pork belly was beautiful and it was good to see the pork came from Dingley Dell that breeds higher walfare pigs
-
Run by two New Zealanders and is based on Marylebone High Street
-
The first time I came here it was for brunch with some friends and I ordered the hot smoked salmon
-
Came with two poached eggs and spinach on walnut toast with yuzu hollandaise
-
One of my friends went for the French toast stuffed with banana and pecans with grilled smoked streaky bacon and vanilla verjus syrup
-
My other friend went for the grilled chorizo with sweet potato and miso hash
-
On another occasion when I went again with some work mates
-
Two poached eggs on whipped yoghurt with hot chilli butter and sourdough toast
-
They are always unique with their New Zeland and European
-
Located in Marylebone High Street close to shops like Sandro and Links you are going to find that amazing and cozy venue
-
The two coursed meals are with prices around 33 pounds and the three courses ones are around 50 pounds
-
Stumbled upon The Providores and Tapa Room (Marylebone) when we got a bit lost around Marylebone and were desperate for some food
-
We stayed upstairs where the layout and decor is very simple and casual
-
All of our dishes were delicious and have great flavours
-
I definitely recommend the scallops if they are your cup of tea
-
We accompanied this with a nice white wine
-
The selection process was no longer necessary and I just invited everyone along instead
-
Whilst I knew exactly what I was ordering before even entering the building
-
From my knowledge there are only a few restaurants that offer a real signature dish on their brunch menu (with the exception of the Duck and Waffle's duck and waffle and Hawksmoor's "
-
Anyone who's anyone knows that the Turkish eggs at the Providores are the absolute cat's pyjamas
-
I was slightly concerned they these had been 'over egged' but the reviews definitely were not eggs agerrating
-
My only complaint is that we were charged a cover charge and 20% service
-
Meant that the 2for1 was a bit of a massive con anyway
-
What really did stand out was the scallops with the chestnuts
-
Duck breast with the kaffir lime and watercress and the crab laksa
-
The food quality was impeccable and the taste exceeded our expectation
-
You have to do something pretty special as a restaurant to be as popular today as you were when you opened 14 years ago
-
The Providores and Tapa Room was set up in 2001 by Peter Gordon
-
Jeremy Leeming and Anna Hansen and is now run by just Peter and Michael
-
I visited The Tapa Room restaurant on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago after I was invited to review it
-
We arrived at 6.30 and there was already a queue outside the door
-
On a table for 3 though there were only 2 of us
-
The Providores and Tapa Room boasts an ever changing wine list with the largest selection of premium New Zealand wines in Europe
-
In the hope of pretending it was warm and sunny outside
-
It turns out that the scrumptious food was all that was needed to make us think of sunnier climes
-
Had the Turkish eggs for brunch which was two poached eggs sitting on whipped yoghurt and drizzled liberally in chilli oil
-
The eggs were cooked longer than I'd prefer (yolks were not runny enough) but overall
-
The ground floor is casual and relaxed dinning and that's where we wanted to eat but since there was no table available on a Friday night we had to go upstairs to the fine dining area
-
Though some of the dishes were nice but it wasn't anything great plus the proportions were really really small
-
They charged a surcharge if you wanted to sit upstairs which was bizarre and they refuse to do coffee with almond milk as they claimed people have allergies to nuts
-
First time in my life a barista has come up with such nonsense
-
The manager was rude and clearly had an attitude problem
-
One of which is on display on the back wall in the restaurant
-
I went to The Providores for a quick lunch last Friday and was seated upstairs in the fine dining area
-
The lentils were rich in flavour
-
I usually prefer my pork with apple sauce but the combination with damsons sauce was quite good and unusual
-
The brunch was quite bad while the tapas and dinner were ok
-
Tapa Room is definitely one of the best places in town to take your tastebuds on a trip at only a fraction of the price of a round the world plane ticket
-
I would rate the restaurant 4.5/5.0 if it was the only dish I tried
-
Trying the french toast was a disappointment for me since I am a big fan of french toasts
-
Their coffees are great so I would recommend coffee fans to give it a try
-
Another thing that I didn't like is that the restaurant size is too small
-
To the extent that I was not able to move my arms because I keep hitting the lady sitting in the table next to me
-
The variety of the menu is really nice and the food presentation is AMAZING
-
Fruit and granola bowls and even the cooked brekkies were top notch and in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service
-
Sadly kopapa has closed and googled that this is the same group as them
-
Decided to pop into The Providores and Tapa Room (Marylebone) for breakfast with a group of us we ordered the auberogne miso dish ( Not nice it was sweet which was unexpected )
-
Turkish eggs ( good as always and this is the dish which I liked from kopapa )
-
We finished it off with a French toast which was not good as expected
-
The place was ill and we sat outside on the table which was nice as it was not as cold as it usually is
-
Even the wine was not up to the level
-
The price is acceptable however it is not the best value for money
-
The space very very tight (the place was packed) and the service so so
-
What I remember most was the excellent wine I had there
-
Would definitely go back as the food was definitely worth it
-
My first visit to The Providores was not for food at all
-
S an old favourite that is anything but traditional
-
A set of fusion dishes with some unlikely sounding flavour combinations that
-
The Providores and Tapa Room are two parts that make up a wonderful eatery on Marylebone High Street
-
The Providores is the restaurant upstairs whilst the Tapa Room is on the ground floor and has a more relaxed café
