Street Xo (Mayfair)

• Nicely laid out tables with an open kitchen
• This is a crazy and cool place designed with an 'underground' feel and set to shock with a wacky entertaining theatrical theme
• Example Munoz signature dish is 'Crunchy Pigs Ears in Strawberry Hoisin'
• It looks like something out of a Hammer House of Horror film crossed with a Jackson Pollock painting
• Actually it was very tasty
• All the waiters are dressed in straight jackets
• One of the waiters was dressed up in a crazy chicken head
• Mine was served in a huge Heart shaped jug complete with ventricles
• Being Spanish based the menu is slightly limiting as it is mainly based around pig and seafood
• We started by ordering Zucchini flower salad with green olives emulsion
• Not that there was anything wrong with it but we just didnt find it as interesting as the other dishes
• Slow Roasted Milk Fed Baby Lamb Shank with tamandarin and Thai basil jus
• The Tandoori Chicken Wings with pickle red onion
• The restaurant was very quirky
• We were assigned a host and was taken to our table
• There was so much choice and has I have not been here before I was spoilt for choice
• The idea to share a cocktail is a great idea as the cocktails are so huge
• So the first we ordered was the Pekingese dumplings to share
• S ear but the taste was just exquisite
• I then went ahead and ordered the Iberian grilled pork belly with mussels and shiitake mushrooms
• My friend ordered Korean lasagne XO style with Galician beef
• This was probably the best lasagne that I have ever had by far
• Sour but left me with a sweet after taste
• If you do not dine here then you are definitely missing out
• The service is slightly overbearing but you usually get that with most high end restaurants
• It actually is a great value for money
• The only downside is the restaurant is very loud and gets very busy quickly
• Each portion was sooo small
• Cocktails of the house are also great and come with interesting forms or glasses
• Street Xo is casually located on Old Burlington St and is the kind of place that I&rsquo
• Lively and upbeat downstairs restaurant with neon lights everywhere
• Most dishes were crazy flavourbombs which is how I like my food
• Organised a spring fling lunch at edgy upscale Mayfair restaurant StreetXO to demonstrate the vibrant versatility of the much adored but seldom tampered with strawberry
• Boasting a menu that is partly identical to DiverXO
• We started with the signature Pekinese Dumplings
• The presentation and bursts of citrus flavour are particularly memorable
• What I loved most about StreetXO is how everything on the menu seems to emulate Muñ
• I heard a lot about the restaurant and was looking forward to trying it for myself
• The brioche ordered on the suggestion of the hostess to be had with the Korean lasagna arrived at the beginning on the meal and lasagne arrived at the end
• The service was extremely delayed and we spent majority of our time looking for out hostess or asking several people for the same thing
• It was extremely appalling considering that there were only two other parties left in the Resturant one of which was walking out at that moment
• Finally the meal was also ruined as we were accompanied by a flying insect that buzzed around our table
• I have had a bad experience but it has never gone so bad that felt the need to provide formal feedback and share my experience with others that are in any way also planning to enjoy a special night
• I sincerely advise the management to review their service quality and consult pest control to ensure that insects are not infecting that food that is being served to the customers
• The poor service and insect infestation at this Resturant has me questioning as to why it is being advertised as a sister Resturant to Michelin star Resturant DiverXO
• Had dinner with some friends from India
• The concept of this street fusion food was interesting portions were a little small but taste was good overall a good experience would go back
